WHO IS RUDI VENTER?

Rudi Venter is proudly South African. Born and raised in Rustenburg in the North West Province, an early interest in wildlife, nature, and conservation would go on to shape his career in guiding.

Rudi’s love for the bush saw him completing his qualifications in Game Farm and Lodge Management after school, and in 2005 he qualified as a Professional Field Guide, with his career taking off in the Kruger National Park.

Over the next 15 years, he has acquired extensive experience and knowledge working at some of the finest lodges in Southern Africa and enjoyed the pleasure of guiding guests at Madikwe Game Reserve, Kruger’s Manyeleti Game Reserve,  – as well as at the renowned Tswalu Kalahari Reserve – to name a few.

This time in the pristine wilderness areas of Southern allowed him to hone his skills while further fuelling his passion for guiding. In 2015 Rudi was selected to participate in the final round of the (FGASA) Safari Guide of the Year competition, which was held in the Kruger National Park. It was a career highlight to share his expertise and knowledge with some of the finest guides in the industry.

The ongoing urge to discover and explore more of the African wilderness has led Rudi to specialize in private guiding, something that has allowed him to share his passion for adventure with a select group of clients in a more personalized, in-depth and expert manner.

‘I love seeing the expression on my client’s face when they get to experience or see Africa’s beauty for the first time. It keeps me acutely aware of the privilege that my guiding brings me and the gift of being able to work with nature in creating these memories of a lifetime.’

A decision to move base camp to Cape Town saw Rudi fall in love with the immense diversity the city has to offer. He soon became fully qualified as a Western Cape culture guide that showcases and professionally shares the many attractions the Fair Cape has to offer with others.

Whether it’s exploring one of Africa’s great wildernesses, hiking Table Mountain, or camping out under inky black skies to the sound of calling hyenas and the rumbling roars of lions – Rudi’s love for nature combined with his knowledge, contagious enthusiasm, humor, and storytelling, is guaranteed to create an amazing experience for his guests.
